We've dusted off the flight cases, the cat sitter is booked and we're looking forward to playing our first show for quite some time, at the Exhibition Road Show at 6pm on the 31st of July (during the London 2012 Olympics). As we've mentioned before, we don't like to play out much, however, when we were invited to play the Road Show we couldn't say no!
It sounds like it is going to be a fantastic event and we're excited to hear that quite a lot of you plan on attending! Our good pal Jesse Stoddard will be bringing along her camera to document the show too... and we hope to bring you some audio visual evidence by the way of Youtube thereafter.
We will be playing afew songs from our next album too (which we are currently recording ... four songs done and we can't wait for you to hear them)...
The whole event is FREE...We hope you can make it, and if you do... please do come and say "Hello!"
We've been spending some time with our friend Jesse (Astronaut Head, Artist, Photograph taker extraordinaire)... She has written a nice little update that we thought we'd share with you... along with the pretty pictures she has taken :) xx
"Just thought I'd update you during my lovely stay this
weekend with The Burning Leaves. They have stolen me away to the
beautiful English country side, where we have enjoyed many cups of chai
and comfy chats next to the fire. Not
only have they invited me into their home and driven me along the sea
side and let me pet their many cats (some of which have only one eye),
they bequeathed me with a precious new necklace with a swallow on it as a
welcoming gift. Their house is full of fun vintage and antique
paraphernalia from the 60's and 70's, and we've already had many a good
laugh taking pictures around the house and listening to music. More
adventures to come, but now it's time to keep my appointment with The
We're over the
moon that our song 'Midday Sun' is included in the new telemovie
'Beaconsfield' - a true story based on the dramatic rescue of miners
Todd Russell and Brant Webb from the collapsed Beaconsfield mine in
Tasmania 2006 .
It's directed by Glendyn Ivin and airs on
Channel 9 (Australia) this coming Sunday, April 22nd 2012. The trailer
is attached below along with a write up by the Daily Telegraph.
Following on from an idea that we had this week, we've just finished our first night of one-to-one webcam sessions via Facebook!
(This was taken just before our first one-to-one webcam session which went on for just under 2 hours)
We take requests (in a private message from you) and then we play them live via webcam, to you, just for YOU (and your friends too, if you like!)
This first night has been a really very lovely experience for us and we're thinking of making it a regular occurrence. We don't like to play a lot of gigs, unless it's something a bit different or special in some way (and we're homebirds!)... so to connect with our friends/fans/listeners this way is very rewarding for us.
We thank you all for your requests and for your company too! We'll announce another date soon and hopefully bring you a live video/recording. See you soon...?!
We've had a little idea that we think might be fun....
If you find yourself with 5 minutes to spare and fancy listening to us play you one
of our songs live (using facebook chat via webcam) just send a message to let us know.
We'll be available @ 10pm GMT on Tuesdays. All you need to do is send us a message and we'll 'call you' on facebook chat... it's NOT a group event, it would be one-to-one, us and you!
If it works out (from the technical point of view) then we might make it a regular thing. Be seeing you? Indie and Craig :)xx
